Since a safe and viable way of returning travelers to their home universes has not yet been discovered, you are unfortunately stuck here indefinitely! It could be a matter of weeks before Erimos' scientists figure out how to send you back, or it could be years. Either way, to ensure that nobody in the city grows restless, and that everybody has a sense of purpose, you are all being put to work. There are a variety of positions available to suit almost any set of skills, as well as training programs available for those who don't have any.

There are three primary divisions: Science, Military and Civilian, which are then broken down into component departments. Each division is headed by three members of Erimos' native crew, and then middle-managed by department heads of their choosing, who can be either natives or newcomers. Then come the people who work under them, and then the civilian trainees. No matter your chosen division, your profession, there is a clear heirarchy, which you would be wise to adhere to.

Visitors should note that, upon being placed in a suitable field, they will only be awarded limited clearance. Their access is restricted to only those parts of Erimos' mainframe which are necessary to do their work.

SCIENCE DIVISION

This division deals with complex research, development and experimentation in fields such as Lapidus Gate technology, interplanetary travel, biology, chemistry, anthropology, botany, communications technology and medicine, to name but a few. Because of the similar goals in their research, all of these departments work closely with each other and are prone to crossover, some personnel becoming members of several or even all departments.

MILITARY DIVISION

The goal of this division is simple: the protection of Erimos and all its people against anything that might threaten them. Depending on a candidate's level of expertise, they can either be grouped as part of intra-city security or assigned to the Marine Corps (which includes the piloting department) to be a part of interplanetary missions. The field of "Mercenary" is also listed, although it isn't available to the general public, so who knows what it might be for?

CIVILIAN DIVISION

Any visitor to the city who has neither scientific nor combat training will be placed in this division, either to be assigned a job more suited to their talents (such as cleaning, maintenance or food service) or to be trained for later entry into one of the other fields. If there are any civilians who possess no skills at all, are too young to work or simply refuse to do so, they will be placed into the universal "Civilian" category.
