Jayne has been called an 'Ape-thing gone wrong' and it suits. He's big, he's brawny, he's strong and intimidating, and a little slow mentally.

He's very selfish, and has had a lot of loyalty-shifting problems in the past, but Captain Mal taught him a right good lesson after he tried to sell out the crazy and the doc, and he's been doing better ever since, but he still has his moments.

He's a little suspicious, and always looking for an excuse to fight, drink, or go find a woman to take back to his bunk,, and though he's rough, abrasive, and a little bit (read: a lot) rude and offensive, he's got a big teddy bear deeeeeep deeeeep down under there.
