ALL ABOUT THEM!
character name: The Doctor
canon: Doctor Who
canon point: After the movie, before any of the novels/audios
important history: You’re kidding, right? 900+ years of history? So, the highlights:
• Stole a TARDIS and fled Gallifrey
• Tried by the Time Lords for interference in history, exiled to Earth
• Defeated Omega with the help of his previous incarnations, in reward for which the Time Lords restored his memory of how to fly the TARDIS
• Was sent back in time to destroy the Daleks in their infancy, but decided against it
• Was accused of killing the Lord President of Gallifrey after trying to prevent said assassination
• Got trapped in a time lock with three of his predecessors
• Put on trial again, this time accused by a dark version of himself that had manifested between his twelfth and thirteenth incarnations
• Defeated the ancient evil known as Fenric
• Left his former friend the Master on the Cheetah Planet
• Was shot in 1999 San Francisco and forced to regenerate due to a botched heart operation

general personality: The eighth version of the Doctor is infused with a love of life that’s quite infectious. He really enjoys travelling, seeing new places, learning new things, meeting new people. As soon as something piques his interest, he’ll jump in without hesitation, asking questions and investigating. This often gets him in trouble because some people consider it nosy, but he doesn’t really give a fig. Not to say he’s insensitive, quite the opposite. Though as an alien he is prone to misinterpreting or just not understanding human emotions, he does care, deeply. Also human foibles are more apt to amuse than annoy him. He is open and honest, sometimes too much so, and his predilection for flippant humor in the face of danger can irritate friend and foe alike.
anything else important about your character: He likes his fashion from the 1800s, knows how to pick pockets, and is afraid of heights.

sample rp post AS YOUR CHARACTER:
As he drew the blue police box door shut after him, the Doctor was startled by the sound of his own feet breaking through the snow. He’d expected the bright white ground cover, just not the silence. Weren’t revolutions supposed to be noisy affairs? Guns and lots of shouting, death throes and cries of pain? Not that he wanted that, mind... but where was everybody?
The Doctor frowned slightly as he surveyed the cold landscape. It was stark, desolate and terribly flat, the monotony broken up only by the occasional outcropping of thatched roofs. This was certifiably the middle of nowhere, deep in the heart of the Siberian steppes where few dared to live. “Maybe the Bolsheviks haven’t got here yet,” he murmured, pulling a white woolen scarf tighter round his neck. Somehow the unending stretch of blankness made it seem colder than it really was.
Then a voice called out from inside the TARDIS— “Where have we landed this time? Somewhere exciting I hope, like Paris or, or— Metebelis Three, or—”
“The birth cries of the Soviet republic,” the Doctor said to the young woman as she stepped haltingly from the TARDIS. Her face fell as she took in the scene. Then she brightened.
“Is this where you played tiddlywinks with the tsarina?” she asked, but the Doctor was already far away in thought.
“No, Charley, that was at Tsarskoe Selo,” he said absently,”and before the royal family was assassinated. Now come on, we’ve a village to save!”
“Couldn’t you take me somewhere nice for a change?” The question was rhetorical and they both knew it. She didn’t want a holiday any more than he did, so she was expecting his bright grin when it finally came.
“Now where would be the fun in that?” he demanded as he took hold of her hand and tugged her in the direction of the nearest dwelling.
