ALL ABOUT THEM!
character name: Rose Marion Tyler
canon: Yes. Doctor Who to be precise.
canon point: After Journey's End, the final episode of the fourth series.
important history:
Rose Tyler was born to Jackie and Pete Tyler on April 27th 1987. When she was just a couple of months old, Pete Tyler was a victim of a hit-and-run accident. Pete didn’t survive, forcing her to grow up without a father figure. Therefore she had been searching for someone to fill that void, all the while holding the memories that her mother had spoken to her about.
When she was a teenager, she was just like a typical Brit. Rose was fifteen when she started to date Mickey, although they mainly became friends and stayed that way more than any sort of love relationship. She attended Jericho Street Comprehensive, where she got her first taste of rallying a group together. She was suspended for persuading her choir group to go on strike. Her mother and her moved into Powell Estates, Jackie getting a job as a hairdresser to support her family. Eventually, Rose dropped out of school to pursue a relationship with Jimmy Stone, however that fell through. With no education, she got a job as a shop assistant at Henrik’s Department Store, living with her mother, and still attempting to have some sort of relationship with Mickey. This is when her life dramatically changed.
Up to this point, her life had been pointless and rather dull. However, one night while working at the department store, she met the one person who was going to change her life, The Doctor. The mannequins seem to come to life, putting her city in peril. Yet the mysterious Doctor managed to save the day with her help, giving her an offer as a reward. He claimed he was a Time Lord, and could travel the stars. The Doctor offered to take Rose to show her the stars and go on adventures with him. At first, she refused, attempting to adhere to her loyalty with Mickey. Yet, finally she gave into the prospect of adventures and went with The Doctor in his little blue box.
Their adventures began, and boy there was some interesting ones. The doctor first took her to witness the end of the earth. She also found herself meeting the death of her father, and World War II. It was then she had met Captain Jack, and sort of had a thing for him, as she attempted to sort out her own feelings about the man she was traveling with. Since they had befriended him, they took him on the TARDIS and began to travel with him. It was then that they noticed the odd words that began to pop up everywhere where they were traveling. The words “Bad Wolf” were unnerving and a complete mystery. The Doctor unraveled a plan of a Dalek invasion, and the fear of Rose losing her life, he had sent her home.
Rose was not willing to give up on the Doctor so soon. After witnessing the words in her home place, she made her way back to him to help save him, after he assumed he was going to die soon. Rose broke into the TARDIS and saw into the heart, becoming the entity, Bad Wolf. As this entity, she vaporized the army of Daleks, and brought Captain Jack back to life, who had become a victim of the Daleks. Yet a human wasn’t made to withstand the power of the TARDIS. Instead of dying from a power overload, The Doctor transferred the power to him by kissing her, causing him to regenerate.
The trauma of this left the Doctor in a coma like state, leaving Rose by herself to fight the Sycorax invasion by herself. Or so it seemed, once again The Doctor managed to save the day. With his new appearance and personality, they were off once again, going on their adventures. This just managed to lengthen her feelings for the Time Lord even more. They met more things, such as clockwork robots and the Queen Victoria. It lead up to a point where they went to an Alternate world, as they called Pete’s World, where her father was alive. They were there long enough to witness a cybermen attack, killing the Jackie Tyler from that reality. Mickey stayed in that reality to attempt to battle the Cybermen.
The drama continued back into the other reality where they were being plagued by Daleks, thanks to theTorchwood Institute. Once again, Rose refused to leave the doctor alone to try and battle them on his own. She even almost sacrificed herself to make sure the Daleks and Cybermen all were sucked into the void. When she was about to be sucked in, Pete Tyler managed to save her, bringing her back to Pete’s World where she was trapped.
Rose lived with her mother and her alternate father, chasing a faint signal to Bad Wolf Bay in Norway, where the Doctor sent his farewell through the closing rift in time. She then confessed that she had loved him, and before he could say it back, the Doctor was cut off. This was the worst day that she could remember.
She then began to immerse herself in Torchwood in attempts to find her way back. She appeared briefly throughout the Doctors adventures with Donna Noble, and didn’t fully appear when the Daleks had invaded earth. She had managed to get back to the reality she was supposed to, finally finding the Doctor, who is then wounded by a Dalek. Instead of regenerating, he used his hand that was cut off in a previous battle to transfer the energy. It was then that they were transported to the Dalek Empire. Donna Noble was stuck in the TARDIS when it was sent to be burned, and stared into the TARDIS, causing a meta crisis doctor to be formed. He was half time lord, and Donna was now half time lord. They managed to save the planets from the Dalek invasion, only after the meta crisis doctor had killed them all. The stars were no longer going out, and they were going home. Yet, something was different. The doctor landed back on Bad Wolf Bay.
"But you've got to. Because we saved the universe, but at a cost. And the cost is him. He destroyed the Daleks. He committed genocide. He's too dangerous to be left on his own.” The Doctor was wanting her to take care of the Meta Crisis Doctor. He was claiming that he only had one heart and that he could grow old with her. Yet there was one test that she could think of. She asked what the Doctor had said the day on Bad Wolf Bay when she thought she was separated for him forever. Of course, the Meta Crisis Doctor knew, and they lived happily ever after. Or so they had thought.
character age: Twenty-Three
face claim: Billie Piper
notable weaknesses:
- Rose is quite stubborn, and is intent on getting her way most of the time.
- Due to this stubbornness, she doesn't like to take no for an answer.
- Rose usually finds herself in trouble at some point or another, mainly because she fails to know the meaning of the word, 'stay'.
- Even though she is twenty-four and has traveled the stars, she is still naive on some things.
- Rose has a problem of caring a bit too much sometimes, and even for the wrong person.
- She's not very good at hand-to-hand combat, and her ability to operate weaponry is restricted to a limited number of guns.
- She is of average intelligence for a girl her age.
notable strengths/abilities:
- Rose exhibits a great deal of compassion for all things big and small, although they have to be primarily good.
- Rose is very loyal to her friends and people that she cares about. She would do anything for them.
- She has an idea of what is right and what is wrong, and often acts upon it.
- Rose has knowledge of Torchwood technology, as well as limited generic knowledge of alien weaponry that Torchwood had found and cataloged.
- She has limited abilities with guns, both laser and hand guns.
- Rose has generic knowledge of aliens that she had encountered with her adventures with the Doctor as well as those listed in the Torchwood files.
general personality:
Rose is an empathic, compassionate woman to say the least. She has a tendency to look past whatever affliction and history that the species might have and attempt to look beyond that, to a certain point. After all, there is always a line that is drawn. She did show some sort of compassion for her first Dalek. This shows that Rose Tyler sometimes likes to set aside risk and danger for this aspect of her personality. The Dalek could have hurt her, and yet she did not move out of the way.
Rose is also are what some consider to be a double edged sword. Where she is compassionate in some, she isn’t in others. In fact, there were some that she got rather nasty at. Cassandra being the biggest one, who claimed she was the last human, and Rose saw through her vain interior. She could also be a bit on the jealous side, including the first time that she had met Sarah Jane. This proves that her concept of relationships and commitments are faltered. After all she had left Mickey to go out with adventures with The Doctor. She really doesn’t know how to handle these sort of feelings. She had also experienced some sort of feelings for Captain Jack Harkness. At some point, she really didn’t know what she had wanted, but perhaps pursuing the Doctor would help clarify this confusion.
There is always a deep love for her family. She has a loyalty to her mum, Jackie, seeing as she had taken care of her by herself since she was months old. Growing up without her father Pete, Rose grew more attached to her mother, wanting to protect her and would attempt to voice her love to her as much as she could. However, this devotion changed when she had met the Doctor. After all, she didn’t really have a masculine figure to look to. The Doctor was her hero, filling that void of the comfort of having a male figure to care for her. This only brought on more complications with the introduction of Pete’s World. Even though she finally had the happy family that she wanted, her so called ‘obsession’ with the Doctor overpowered the love of having her family, and even though she loved them very much, she had left them. The Doctor had showed her the stars, and no one could go back from that.
The adventures that he usually took her on regularly made her find herself in some sort of peril. She had a usual tendency to find trouble wherever they went. However, she showed her courage and determination in almost every situation. She often has a quick silver tongue, and is quite stubborn, making their adventures sometimes not as pleasing, but usually can get a bit comical. Rose often tends to be quick on her feet, even though her judgement might not exactly be the right one. She usually steers in the right direction, as an attempt to be more of a heroine than anything. It is usually swayed by her feelings of those involved. All in All, Rose has a strong personality, that one simply can not miss upon meeting her.
anything else important about your character: Rose Tyler loves chips, and her biggest secret is that her hair is not naturally blonde.

The rain softly pattered against the glass, winding it's way down to the window sill. The day was dreary to say the least, a time where it was a good idea for most people to stay inside. Rose, however, had a job to do. It had been that way ever since she had found herself once again on Bad Wolf Bay. Her mind briefly searched through the memories as she stood in the cold, her feet sinking into the sand. Her eyes searched the two men that were in front of her. They might have looked the same, but she knew that they were entirely different. Rose had come up with a test of sorts. She needed to know if the man that The Doctor was going to leave with her was truly the same man that she had loved. He might of had the same thoughts and same memories, but could he still love her as much as The Doctor did with only one heart? The question was asked, and Meta-Crisis proved to her that he was. It was that moment she had crushed her lips to his. It was that moment that she knew that they both were the same.
Her mind snapped back into the present, her staring at her dark reflection in the business building's window. The ear piece in her ear apparently had been going off trying to reach her but she had been deep in thought. She kept remembering that day, the day where she had left one time lord for another. Over the months, it had shown that Meta-Crisis was not truly the same man. Rose had been burdened with the responsibility of watching out for him. To make sure his heart and his mind were in the same place. Even more so that they did not have a handy-dandy T.A.R.D.I.S.. Which brought her back to the future. The reason why she had been in this dimly lit building after hours.
It had been a routine mission for Torchwood. She wasn't allowed on anything high-risk, and these missions seemed to help the Meta-Crisis Doctor in changing his ways. After all he had been born in anger, blood, and in battle. The small day-to-day missions kept him busy, kept them both busy. Busy enough to make sure he didn't do anything irrational. After all, he was only a few months old. This particular mission was to look into a company upon where vast amounts of money were being spent on a non-existent technological department. She may not be able to hack into computers easily, or could win in a fight, but Rose did have her uses. Besides, there was always that feeling deep down inside of her that no matter how dangerous the situation was, it was still fun.
Her job was almost complete. She had posed as a temp for one of the offices in the building, and made an excuse that she needed to stay after hours. After all, she was a poor temp. All she needed to do was let the team in and help find the surveillance footage to cut the cameras in order to hack into the main frame. All done by other members of her team, of course. Which brought her to the moment of day dreaming outside the window. Her leader had been yelling in her ear to get going, and it wasn't until she heard his voice over the com that Rose finally snapped to. "Right, sorry, I'm coming." Rose apologized, before opening the door, the team standing beside her as they stared at the empty building. Meta stepped to the side of her, moving to lightly take her hand.
"This place looks awful eerie.. Alright, Alpha group. Scramble the cameras. Beta, you know what to do." The others nodded, before Rose and Meta exchanged glances. "I found this back room while pretending to work today. Care for a peek?" Rose questioned with a grin, and had began to gently lead Meta to a room that had been locked, but obviously no match for someone with a sonic screwdriver. Rose peered at it as they approached. "Looks like another one of those magic doors." She smiled, the thought of another adventure always intriguing.
With a flash of blue light, the door had opened and the duo entered. Voices could be heard in the distance, and naturally curiosity took over her. Slowly, and as quiet as she could be, she ducked and maneuvered around pipes until she could get a clear view. In the middle of the room was a group of fat, flatulent green creatures discussing some sort of dimensional telescope or another. "Slitheen" Rose whispered quietly, but apparently not quiet enough, as the three monsters turned to look into the darkness where she had stood.
"I smell a human!" One hissed, causing Rose's eyes to widen and step back, right unto a loose pipe that created a noise that rang about the room. With a slight growl, the three began to run after the noise. Rose turned on her heels and began to run towards the door, grabbing onto Meta along the way who had been busy fiddling with a computer of some sort.
"What are we running from?" He questioned, moving to look behind him. "Oh those!" He exclaimed, as the two made their way to the door.
"Slitheen, from uh... Raxicoricofallipatorious!" Rose said, and even though they were running for their life, she had a grin on her face. This was the adventure that she had wanted, the adventure that she had waited for. That was until they ran into a dead end. She swore there was a door there not long ago, but now was simply a break wall. Rose skipped to a stop with Meta, turning around to face the creatures. "So much for an adventure. Any ideas... Doctor?" She questioned, in hopes that the adventure that she had waited for would not soon come to such an abrupt end. How's that for a dreary, rainy day?
